Getting it right for every child (GIRFEC)
Working with parents, carers, and professionals to support disabled children and young people, and those living with long term conditions.
Our project is aimed at raising awareness of how Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) can support disabled children and those living with long term conditions, their parents, and carers.
GIRFEC is a Scottish Government policy with the vision of making Scotland the best place to grow up for all children and young people, by implementing good practice and supporting children’s wellbeing. It is important for children and young people, as well as their parents and carers, to be informed so they are empowered to use the tools and language of GIRFEC to access adequate and timely support when needed.
We deliver GIRFEC training for parents, carers, and professionals; you can find details about our sessions here.
As well as collating participants’ feedback about the training sessions, we also respond to Scottish Government consultations about GIRFEC, and provide reports to the Scottish Government to help inform GIRFEC guidance and practice, promoting the voice of children and young people, their parents, and carers.
If you want to know more or request a training session, you can get in touch with us by e-mailing GIRFEC@alliance-scotland.org.uk or calling 0141 404 0231.
