The gap between policy and implementation can be significant. Our Children and Young People Programme works with members and stakeholders to help drive positive change and to help close the gap. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We stay at the forefront of Scottish policy development, ensuring that the voices, expertise and lived experience of the third sector shape national decision-making and that policy commitments improve outcomes for children and young people. Some of our current work includes: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>GIRFEC Advisory Group<\/strong> &#8211; The ALLIANCE hosts the group, bringing together senior leaders from across the third sector alongside representatives from the Scottish Government. This group provides  insight and expertise to inform our children and young people programme of work, ensuring that GIRFEC principles are implemented in ways that genuinely work for families.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Scotland&#8217;s National Transitions Strategy for Disabled Young People<\/strong> &#8211; The ALLIANCE are members of the Scottish Government external working group on transitions. We work to ensure that the strategy published in June 2025 supports the reality faced by disabled young people and that priorities are implemented and rights-based<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Supporting UNCRC Implementation<\/strong> &#8211; The ALLIANCE are part of the UNCRC Implementation Steering Group hosted by Together (Scottish Alliance for Children\u2019s Rights). Staying updated with ongoing developments and working to ensure children&#8217;s rights are embedded across health and social care. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cross Party Parliamentary Engagement<\/strong> &#8211; We are members of the Children and Young People Cross Party Group at the Scottish Parliament, helping to inform parliamentary discussion with evidence from the third sector and lived experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Strategic Collaboration<\/strong> &#8211; The ALLIANCE are members of the Children&#8217;s Sector Strategic and Policy Forum<strong> <\/strong>hosted by Children in Scotland.
