{"id":2174,"date":"2026-06-23T16:27:43","date_gmt":"2026-06-23T15:27:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.alliance-scotland.org.uk\/health-and-social-care-integration\/?p=2174"},"modified":"2026-06-23T16:33:49","modified_gmt":"2026-06-23T15:33:49","slug":"ijb-lived-experience-representative-voting-rights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alliance-scotland.org.uk\/health-and-social-care-integration\/ijb-lived-experience-representative-voting-rights\/","title":{"rendered":"IJB Lived Experience Representative Voting Rights"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>From 1 September 2026, more Integration Joint Board (IJB) members will have voting rights in decisions about local health and social care services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In February 2026, the Scottish Parliament passed the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.legislation.gov.uk\/ssi\/2025\/405\/made\"><strong>Public Bodies (Joint Working) (Integration Joint Boards) (Scotland) Amendment Order 2025<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The amendment order updates earlier rules about who is allowed to vote on IJBs by extending voting rights to unpaid carer, service user, and third sector representatives. These are people who represent their communities and provide lived experience insight about accessing and providing health and social care services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ALLIANCE is leading on work to support IJBs and service user representatives \u2013 who we refer to as lived experience representatives \u2013 through the transition and beyond.
