Its opinions are forwarded to the Council, the European Commission and the European Parliament. It has a key role in the Union\u2019s decision-making process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through its commitment to European integration, the EESC contributes to strengthening the democratic legitimacy and effectiveness of the European Union by enabling civil society organisations from the Member States to express their views at European level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2023, the ALLIANCE continued its partnership with the EESC through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding signed by Dr Irene Oldafther and the former EESC President Oliver R\u00f6pke visited Scotland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since then, in 2025, the ALLIANCE and the EESC led a successful \u2018Youth Participation\u2019 campaign for a UK-EU Youth Mobility Scheme and to rejoin the Erasmus+ programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can find more information about the current\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.eesc.europa.eu\/members-groups\/groups\/various-interests-group-iii\"><strong>EESC group 3.\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Section for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.eesc.europa.eu\/sections-other-bodies\/sections-commission\/employment-social-affairs-and-citizenship-soc\"><strong>Employment, Social Affairs and Citizenship (SOC)<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is one of six specialised sections within the European Economic and Social Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>End of page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ALLIANCE is represented on the EESC, a consultative body and the voice of organised civil society in Europe.
