Neurological Programme
The neurological programme is here to strengthen voice of the neurological community; and support them to influence policy and practice.
The neurological programme was funded by Scottish Government to engage with people living with a neurological condition and bring their collective voice to shape the recommendations of the National Advisory Group for Neurological Conditions (NACNC) for the National Action Plan for Scotland. This wide ranging piece of work heard from over 600 people living with a neurological condition. The Neurological Programme is represented on a number of groups and is in a position to use these voices to influence policy.
National Advisory Group for Neurological Conditions
This group are responsible for making recommendations regarding Scotland’s first ever national action plan for neurology. It is made up from clinicians, third sector organisations and people living with a neurological condition.
General Standards for Neurological Care and Support Development Group
This group is responsible for inputting to the General Standards for Neurological Care and Support, a project being led by Healthcare Improvement Scotland. The Standards are an update of the 2009 Standards and seek to reflect the move towards integration of services and embed a more person centred approach to services.
Scottish Access Collaborative
This is a new project that will co-design access pathways for neurological services. The Digital Health and Care Institute (this link will take you away from our website) and the Glasgow School of Art will support people to explore innovative and effective ways to join up pathways between a number of neurological services.
Within all of these pieces of work the issues and priorities raised by people living with a neurological condition will be the core of the input from the Neurological Programme.
Updates on all of these pieces of work will be shared here and in the ALLIANCE weekly Newsletter. If you wish to receive our Newsletter please email info@alliance-scotland.org.uk
