The call for evidence is now open.
David Strang has formally launched the call for evidence which will play a central part in the Independent Inquiry into Mental Health Services in Tayside.
The following press release was issued outlining how people can get involved in submitting evidence.
Independent Inquiry into Mental Health Services in Tayside – Call for Evidence, Wednesday 5th September
The Independent Inquiry into mental health services in Tayside is opening the Call for Evidence on Wednesday 5th September. Evidence is requested from individuals, families, carers, NHS staff, community groups and organisations. This Call for Evidence effectively marks the launch of the Inquiry itself and has only been made possible following the continued engagement of this group, facilitated by the Alliance. It’s important to note that the Inquiry Team are keen to hear personal testimonies and experiences from anyone who has engaged with mental health services in NHS Tayside.
All evidence provided will be used to guide the focus of the Inquiry team in their work in the coming months as they carry out their investigations and make recommendations. Evidence may include both good and bad experiences of the mental health services in Tayside – the team are keen to hear everything. Mr Strang, the Chair of the Independent Inquiry said “I am keen to hear from a wide range of people with experience of mental health services in Tayside and will welcome all contributions to the Inquiry.”
Evidence can be submitted in writing directly to the Independent Inquiry team by using the email (independentinquiry@dundee.ac.uk) or by post to:
Independent Inquiry,
15/16 Springfield,
Dundee,
DD1 4JE.
The team would like to receive all written evidence on or before Friday 19th October, if possible.
There will also be opportunities for anyone who prefers to submit evidence orally to make an appointment with the team. Dates available for appointments will be announced in early October and we will contact you with the details at that time.
Further information on the Call for Evidence will be available on the Inquiry website : www.IndependentInquiry.org/call-for-evidence
Many thanks for your continued engagement with the Inquiry.
