UK Lead, Tommy, was presented a Make a Difference Award with Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
Massive thanks to Anne O’Connor, Leadership Development Consultant, Nate and colleagues at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust Hammersmith Hospital for inviting Tommy to speak with colleagues at the hospital on 25 January and then later that day with School Leaver Apprentices visiting the trust.
We had the most wonderful day meeting the wonderful teams from across the trust and future colleagues. Tommy was so honoured to receive the Hammersmith Hospital Make a Difference Award after the sessions for his talks across the country.
Thank you for the most wonderful day from all the team at DCV.
A few of the team shared personal pledges below with Tommy on the day.
I will tell my colleagues about talk number 862 about kindness and leadership.
Dr Tania Mathas – Eye Doctor, Ophthalmologist
I will listen more and ask what matters to people.
Sarah – Matron
I will active listen more.
Sandra – Head of Operations
I will introduce the patient advice to our Big 4 to be read out at handover as a reminder not patients but people – when statements from slide one finished, I will ask a patient for advice.
Eileen Collie – Lead Nurse
I will approach the situations that frustrate me with kindness and appreciation for what’s important for other people and ask them.
Sharon Probets – Head of Learning
I will introduce “what matters to you” on Springboard and share the patience not patient’s poem to start a conversation about kindness.
