The ALLIANCE has engaged heavily with the process of social care reform, including through the Independent Review of Adult Social Care.

Transformational change in Scotland’s social care system is long overdue, and the ALLIANCE have been longstanding advocates for change that puts people at the centre of services, upholds human rights, and appropriately values the workforce. We supported engagement as part of the Independent Review of Adult Social Care (IRASC), also known as the Feeley Review.

Following the Scottish Government’s resulting commitment to introduce a National Care Service (NCS), the ALLIANCE have engaged extensively through responding to the consultation, giving evidence to Scottish Parliament committees which have been scrutinising the NCS Bill, and working with our members to develop possible amendments. Our Future of Social Care projects also collected views, opinions, ideas and hopes for reform as part of this process.
