The group includes members from the third sector, the public sector, academia, and people with lived experience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The aim of the Coalition is to bring together rights holders and duty bearers to give focus to human rights development in health and social care.<\/p>\n<p>The Coalition:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>shares information and best practice on human rights in health and social care,<\/li>\n<li>raises awareness and advocates for human rights based approaches to be understood and made real, and<\/li>\n<li>promotes and develops new human rights initiatives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Background<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The founding members of this group were members of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alliance-scotland.org.uk\/policy-into-practice\/human-rights\/snap\/\">Health and Social Care Action Group formed under Scotland\u2019s first National Action Plan (SNAP1)<\/a>.
