Self Management Week 2021

Self Management Week 2021 was held 27 Sept – 1 Oct with the returning theme ‘My Wellbeing, My Life: Everyone has a self management story.

Over 10 diverse digital events were held throughout the week, including the second instalment of Reducing Stigma, Emphasising Humanity, an event with Discover Digital and a Self Management Network Scotland lunch and learn session.

We received media coverage of Adrienne (this link will take you away from our website) and Margaret’s (this link will take you away from our website) self management stories as part of the Glasgow Live ‘Glasgow Lives’ series.

As always, the Self Management Awards ceremony was a highlight of the week. Held on Wednesday evening, we heard from Humza Yousaf, Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care (this link will take you away from our website), previous award winner Lindsay Steven and ALLIANCE Director of Development and Improvement Sara Redmond. We also shared a medley video of all of the self management stories (this link will take you away from our website) which were shared on Twitter.

The week provided a chance for people to come together and learn, network and celebrate self management, as well as raising awareness of the importance of self management in all of our lives.

We released two ALLIANCE Live videos during the week, linked below:

New research into self management (this link will take you away from our website).

The ALLIANCE Sensory Hub (this link will take you away from our website).
