NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board is committed to continually improving the ways in which people and communities needs can be met.

Legislation including the Patient Rights (Scotland) Act, Community Empowerment Act and Equality Act, and the recently published Planning with People guidance set out our public duty to involve people in the planning, design and delivery of services, and our own Stakeholder Communications and Engagement Strategy 2020-2023 clearly articulates our values, principles and commitment to engagement, participation and involvement as a fundamental right.

The Strategy also clearly describes our ambition to collaborate with key stakeholders and in particular community and third sector organisations. Working closely with partners to better understand the needs of communities, share knowledge, resources and experiences and develop shared solutions benefits us all.

Our Patient Experience Public Involvement Team (PEPI) has a specific role to support patient, carer and public feedback and engagement across NHSGGC corporate and Acute services. We believe there and will continue to be a range of ways in which membership of The Alliance will support better engagement and involvement, in particular through regular communication, networking and sharing learning, training, consultation opportunities.
