Crossroads Fife

Crossroads Fife offers support which is in addition to services already provided by Health & Social Care.

The service does not duplicate Health & Social Care provision, but it does complement the provision by offering Carers more regular short respite breaks. It does relieve pressure on the statutory services reducing the need for more intensive interventions. Carers feel more supported, more able to sustain their caring role. It helps relieve Carers in such a way that their tasks do not overwhelm them causing their own illness and/or admission to hospital.

Consistency of support is a strength we hold dearly at our core provision. Our service model allows us to deliver a weekly service to the family at the same time, on the same day by the same member of staff. Our support also gives the carer a break too, helping to prevent carer ‘burn out’ by reducing carers stress, enabling them to feel positive about their caring role for their child. It also helps to ensure that they have all the support in place that they require and in addition assists in the prevention of a possible crisis situation.
