Trellis
- Website: Visit Trellis
Trellis is the national charity for therapeutic gardening in Scotland.
We support around 520 groups across the country who use gardening to help people help themselves, by improving their health and wellbeing, skills, confidence and opportunities.
The groups we support help people facing all kinds of difficulties including mental ill health, neurological and head injuries, addiction, learning disabilities, dementia, autism, and other long-term conditions such as arthritis. Therapeutic gardening groups help children with life limiting illnesses and people living with cancer, heart disease and recovering from strokes. They are found everywhere from care settings to hospitals, community plots, schools, veteran recovery centres and day centres. The majority of the projects we support are in the top 20% of most deprived areas in Scotland (according to SIMD Index). Together we support over 14,500 people each week to help themselves.
