SAY Women
- Project Status: On-going
SAY Women were awarded £115,596 in June 2025 to run their project for 36 months
A 36 month project aimed at supporting women beginning their post-traumatic growth journey following an experience of childhood sexual abuse/sexual violence through supporting people to attend, and during, appointments. Working with health services to improve accessibility, structured wellbeing workshops, peer support groupwork, and an annual outdoors activity residential
As the project is a development of previous work specific learning from this phase will be gained from understanding the value of the peer work and holistic approach in supporting people to develop self management skills, progress faster and/or stay engaged in support for longer and how this could be evidenced. As well as deepening understanding of the challenges and barriers faced by women in recovery from CSA in accessing services and support, and how that learning can be best shared with and utilised by health professionals.
