Glasgow Centre for Inclusive Living (GCIL)
Glasgow Centre for Inclusive Living (GCIL) is a charity run by and for disabled people.
GCIL is run by disabled people for disabled people, believing that societal barriers disable people, not impairment. We are part of an independent movement promoting inclusive living by assisting disabled people to challenge barriers and make informed choices about their lives. Specifically, we:
• support people to access housing suitable for their needs by matching them to available housing and provide advice on adaptation
• help people access personalised support and take control of their support arrangements
• help disabled people employ Personal Assistants, by helping with recruitment, employment contracts and offer a payroll service.
• deliver a range of programmes designed to support disabled people into employment.
• offer training and consultancy support to organisations wanting to educate themselves about how to remove barriers for disabled people in their services.
• have a fully accessible office / meeting rooms / spaces for hire and are a popular venue hosting disabled people and aiding their participation.
