Art in Healthcare were awarded £10,560 in June 2025 to run their project for 12 months
A 12 month project in three stages to develop previously identified tools into a structured course aimed at preventing the deterioration of participants’ mental health conditions while on waiting lists. Collaborating with Community Mental Health Teams across Scotland, targeting individuals on waiting lists for psychological therapies, the initial period would focus on co-design and development before delivering, piloting and evaluating in partnership with Community Mental Health Teams, with a third period reserved for analysis and sharing of learning. During the term it is also intended that an online platform is created for connection and sharing for those using art as a self management tool.
Learning will be gained through the experiences of working in partnership with Community Mental Health Teams, the challenges developing a course that can be as flexible as originally envisioned. The ways in which an online platform is used, and the degree to which the course can be shown to impact upon people’s wellbeing while waiting.
