Bipolar Scotland were awarded £117,120.15 in June 2025 to run their project for three years

A 36 month project aimed at increasing support for people living with Bipolar while in work (self employed and salaried), incorporating elements of 1:1 support, peer mentorship and resources. Support will also include activities to support students with BP to prepare for the workplace and training for employers to create more supportive work environments.

Learning will be gained from a deepening understanding of the challenges faced by, and concerns of, people with BP in employment, the effectiveness of Peer Support structures at this stage of a person’s journey, whether support can result in people finding it easier to maintain work and how this could be evidenced. Learning would also be gained through student work in how to support people to better prepare for the workplace, and from the experience of working in partnership with employers, particularly their wiliness to engage in (and support the costs of) training.
