Deafblind Scotland were awarded £111,896.00 in June 2025 to run their project for 36 months
A 36 month project to co-create a Self Management Tool for deafblind people, and people transitioning to dual sensory loss, to define a baseline across a number of areas in their life and supporting goal-setting and progress towards improved wellbeing. The funded period will incorporate a period of initial development, piloting and improvement followed by a wider rollout, supported by peer ambassadors.
Learning will be gained from understanding how best to support Deafblind individuals to engage in a codesign process. The needs and adaptions identified through their input and changes identified through wider rollout. The degree of alignment between the final tool and the Deafblind Equality Indicators. Through a deepening understanding of deafblind individuals’ baseline wellbeing, the degree to which the process increases wellbeing. The effectiveness of evaluation tools in demonstrating impact and how this might educate further work both locally and internationally.
