Long Term Conditions Hebrides were awarded £80,162 in July 2024 to run their project for 36 months.

A three year project aimed at further developing the Long Term Conditions Hebrides service to better engage unpaid carers, including new carer-specific marketing, new courses and revised resources. The intention is not to restrict support to carers but widen support to include carers. The project hopes to add to learning around what is effective in engaging carers, whether there are any specific challenges in engaging carers alongside people with long term conditions, and understand the impact of work on carers and more generally people’s mental wellbeing. The project is also interested to learn how people engage with new resources, particularly how resources support students to understand self management principles, and whether this can result in better relationships with UHI and Health care professionals
