Strathclyde Wing Hong Elderly Group were awarded £104,640 in July 2024 to run their project for 36 months

A three year project aimed at supporting elderly members of the Chinese community to better self manage through health assessments, digital inclusion, Cookery and nutrition workshops, exercise, and health and wellbeing sessions. The activity hopes to generate learning around what is effective in engaging this demographic in health and wellbeing activity, and support us to understand better what the barriers are that people face, as well as identify the gaps that might exist in people’s knowledge. The project is aware that a portion of participants are mistrustful of western medicine and hopes to track this to see how people’s trust of western medicine shifts through their engagement in the activity (i.e. more likely to attend a GP).
