Association of Anaesthetists

The Association of Anaesthetists is made up of over 10,000 anaesthetists in the UK, Republic of Ireland and internationally.

We seek to promote patient care and safety, and make advances in
anaesthesia through education, publications, research and international work.
The motto of the Association of Anaesthetists is ‘In somno securitas’ or ‘Safe in sleep’ and our vision
is that every patient under our care is kept safe. Our mission is to safeguard patients by educating,
supporting, and inspiring every anaesthetists throughout their career, enabling them to provide the
best care in every healthcare setting.
