Better Lives Partnership supports young people with autism and other additional support needs.
| Better Lives Partnership is an SCIO established in 2016 to support the education, employability, community integration, and improvement of life for young people with autism and other additional support needs. We aim to increase the health and wellbeing of the young people attending, support them to reach their next positive destination, provide them with a way to gain accredited qualifications in an area of their interest, to increase the opportunities available to them and to increase social and community engagement. We advance public awareness and understanding of autism and other additional support needs and provide information and advice to people affected by autism and other additional support needs, their parents and carers and practitioners who support them. We support young people with autism and other learning difficulties by providing a range of opportunities for them to enable them to live independent and fulfilling lives within their communities. Our core activity is our Bridge to Employment Programme which aims to prepare our young people aged 16-25 with the skills and confidence needed to go on to college, work or volunteering. The course comprises four interlinked core strands: Employability; Enterprise and the Community; Independent Living and Social, Mental Health & Wellbeing. The materials and qualifications we deliver are ASDAN (Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network) which are specially designed for learners with special educational needs. |
