British Association of Teachers of the Deaf
The British Association of Teachers of Deaf Children and Young People (BATOD) was formed in 1976.
Our aims are as follows:
to promote the education of all deaf children, young people and adults
– to advance the status of teachers of deaf children and young people
– to ensure and enhance the high quality of mandatory training of teachers of deaf children and young people and their continuing professional development
By:
– fostering and disseminating good practice and promoting research
– informing and responding to legislation in relation to deaf learners
– providing conferences, short course and other on-going professional development for members
