Working to empower those recovering from drug and/or alcohol addiction.

Harbour Ayrshire is a lived-experience, trauma-informed charity working across Ayrshire to improve the health, wellbeing and life opportunities of individuals, families and communities affected by alcohol and drug addiction, poor mental health, social isolation, poverty and trauma. Our mission is to reduce harm, promote recovery, strengthen families and support people to become active, self-supporting members of their communities.

Our primary aim is to provide accessible, person-centred support that empowers people to make positive and sustainable changes in their lives. We deliver this through peer support groups, one-to-one recovery support, family support services, digital inclusion programmes, community outreach, volunteering opportunities, employability pathways and practical crisis interventions.

A key objective is to ensure that people with lived and living experience are at the heart of service delivery and development. We believe recovery is built through hope, connection, meaningful relationships and opportunities to contribute positively to society. Our approach promotes dignity, inclusion, participation and equality, helping individuals overcome barriers and reduce the stigma often associated with addiction and mental health challenges.

We are committed to reducing health inequalities and improving access to support, particularly for people living in deprived, rural and isolated communities. Through partnership working with health, social care, community and third-sector organisations, we help create pathways that improve outcomes for supported people and their families.
