Inverclyde Libraries, museum and archives service seeks to make a significant contribution to the lives of the people of Inverclyde

We look to make this contribution through the delivery of high quality cultural, learning, information and leisure services and opportunities.  Services are provided through a network of seven branch libraries and the McLean Museum and Art Gallery.

We have some core functions:

  • Promote literacy.
  • Provide access to a range of accurate, balanced and current information in all appropriate formats.
  • Provide access to digital skills and services.
  • Exhibit, interpret and make these collections accessible to the general public for education, inspiration and enjoyment.
  • Collect, research and conserve museum collections.
  • Preserve archival material relating to the past and present life in Inverclyde in secure storage.
