Want to allow patients, carers and the public to influence the planning and delivery of NHS services

The Scottish Health Council and was established in 2005 to promote Patient Focus and Public Involvement in the NHS in Scotland. It is part of Healthcare Improvement Scotland. A key aspect of the Scottish Health Council’s role is to support NHS Boards to improve individual and collective participation and also to monitor how they carry out their statutory duty to involve people in the planning and delivery of health services.
