A specialist service supporting individuals, families and communities affected by alcohol and drug use across Scotland.
Substances Support Scotland improves wellbeing and supports recovery for people and families affected by alcohol and other substance use. Across Fife, Midlothian and East Lothian we provide accessible psychosocial support, counselling and community services, helping people overcome barriers and pursue their own goals. Our approach is grounded in human rights, dignity and choice, combining professional expertise with lived and living experience. We involve people in shaping our work and aim to challenge stigma, reduce inequalities and strengthen their voice. Scotland-wide, we also deliver accredited mental health training and specialist training in alcohol and drugs brief interventions, informed by our frontline experience. We help employers, professionals, volunteers and community groups build knowledge around mental health, alcohol and substance use issues. Our training develops confidence and practical skills to support others.
