SKS Scotland CIC's Heartland Care's Case Study Report

SKS Scotland CIC have been working together with the communities of Rannoch, and Dunkeld and Birnam over the past two years, to co-create and establish a community-led approach to the provision of social care services in these rural, remote areas of North Perthshire. This has led to the creation of a new charity, Heartland Cares, which is now operational and will provide care at home, befriending, hospital transport and other services across these communities. Support for the work to develop this approach was provided by Perth and Kinross CLLD Fund, and the initial infrastructure set up and operational costs are being funded by Perth and Kinross HSCP and NHS Tayside Charitable Foundation.

SKS has now produced a case study brochure which summarises the journey that we’ve been on with these communities to develop this new approach and the key outcomes that are anticipated in relation to health and wellbeing, the local economy, community wealth building and resilience, and public sector sustainability.
