TL Tech is creating a version of the ALISS platform that can be accessed via the Amazon Alexa smart speakers.

TL Tech (This link will take you away from our website.) is creating a version of The Health and Social Care Alliance’s (the ALLIANCE) ALISS (This link will take you away from our website.) platform that can be accessed via the Amazon Alexa smart speakers. If you’ve not heard of ALISS before, it’s A Local Information System for Scotland that users can navigate via the ALISS website to find support in their local communities.

The project has been awarded funding from Innovate UK as part of their Healthy Ageing Challenge and will look to augment the functionality of ALISS to make it more accessible, particularly for those with low digital literacy or who may have a physical impairment that makes use of computers or tablet devices more difficult.

As the funding is linked to the Healthy Ageing grand challenge, we are particularly interested in engaging with older people and their support networks.

We are asking if you would like to join us in shaping the voice of the new ALISS Alexa voice application. Your involvement can be as little or as much as you would like.

We are planning two online events:

▪          Workshop 1 – 26th of October from 9.30 am-12.30 pm

▪          Workshop 2 – 3rd of November from 1 pm-3 pm

We will also be sending out a number of short surveys and setting up 1-2-1 meetings (approximately 20 minutes) with people interested in seeing the early prototype to provide feedback.

If you are interested in participating in the development of the ALISS voice application for Amazon you can sign up for our mailing list to be kept up-to-date on our activities here:
