This webinar is part of our Autumn programme of events on women’s health and our ALLIANCE membership programme – see here for the full women’s health event programme delivered in partnership with the Scottish Government’s Women’s Health Plan team: https://www.alliance-scotland.org.uk/blog/news/alliance-womens-health-autumn-event-programme/
Join the ALLIANCE for a free online information event on female reproductive anatomy, led by Dr Michelle Welsh and Dr Ourania Varsou from the Anatomy Facility of the School of Medicine, Dentistry, and Nursing at the University of Glasgow.
We’ll explore essential topics such as the correct terminology and anatomy of the reproductive system, addressing historical inaccuracies and modern corrections around how we understand and name female bodies.
This session aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of important topics such as puberty, menstruation and menopause through the science of anatomy and physiology.

The ALLIANCE is working closely with the Scottish Government to support the Women’s Health Plan and ensure lived experience involvement. The ALLIANCE will be using Zoom webinar for this event. This means who will not be seen by the hosts or other audience members. The event is not designed to elicit personal information from participants, however, should you register to attend you must be aware that Zoom.us transfers personal data to the USA and that any personal data you choose to share will be transferred to a country that does not provide adequate protection and that no adequate safeguards aimed at providing protection for the data are being implemented.
Notes
[1] The Women’s Health Plan and the ALLIANCE’s programme uses the term ‘women/woman’ throughout but it is important to highlight that it is not only those who identify as women who require access to women’s health and reproductive services. All healthcare services should be respectful and responsive to individual needs, and all should have access to clear information that supports their health.
