Social Security Scotland: Pension Age Disability Payment

Pension Age Disability Payment is replacing Attendance Allowance in Scotland. Social Security Scotland would like to invite you to sign up to a free online stakeholder information event where they will share details on Pension Age Disability Payment.
From early 2025, adults in Scotland in receipt of Attendance Allowance will start to have their awards transferred to Pension Age Disability Payment.
New applications for Pension Age Disability Payment can be made from 24 March 2025 for people living in: Aberdeenshire, Angus, Clackmannanshire, Dundee City, East Ayrshire, Falkirk, Fife, Moray, Na h-Eileanan Siar (Western Isles), North Ayrshire, Perth and Kinross, South Ayrshire and Stirling.
Pension Age Disability Payment will be available to every area in Scotland from 22 April 2025.

- Pension Age Disability Payment Stakeholder Event – National Rollout Tickets, Wed 16 Apr 2025 at 13:00 | Eventbrite
This event will include a general overview of the following topics:
- Policy background
- Eligibility criteria and how to apply
- Key differences between Attendance Allowance and Pension Age Disability Payment
- Supporting Information
- Award and review periods
- Short Term Assistance
- Special Rules for Terminal Illness
- Passported benefits
A Pension Age Disability Payment Case Transfer event will also be held. Find out more here.
This event will include a general overview of the following topics:
- The policies which will underpin the transfer process
- How clients currently on Attendance Allowance will be selected for case transfer
- End to end client journey
- How they will communicate with clients throughout this process
