Sign the petition to oppose funding cuts to the Community Links Service based in West Dunbartonshire GP practices.

A petition to stop cuts to a lifeline service that provides essential support to patients in West Dunbartonshire has been launched.

The Community Links Service, based in GP practices across the region, is facing a 40% cut in funding, which would substantially reduce the support Links Workers could provide.

The Community Links Workers (CLWs) are employed by the ALLIANCE, with the petition being organised by the union, GMB Scotland.

CLWs provide practical support, for example, poverty related issues, like housing and benefits, and mental health support. Their work reduces pressure on primary care services, with local GPs vigorously opposing the proposed cuts.

The ALLIANCE, GMB Scotland, and local GPs have all separately written to West Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership, West Dunbartonshire Council, Ministers and the Scottish Government to oppose the cuts.

If you want to oppose the cuts and make your voice heard, you can sign the GMB Scotland petition ‘Save Our Community Links Workers’ – GMB Scotland | Save Our Community Links Workers
