As Scotland heads towards a new National Care Service, the ALLIANCE’s “Future of Social Care” series will be investigating some of the key issues at play. In this episode, ALLIANCE Senior Policy Officer Dr Hannah Tweed interviews Meg Thomas, Head of Research, Policy & Participation at includem. They discuss includem’s work supporting children, young people and families, what can stop them from accessing services, and the need to design a National Care Service that works for those facing the biggest barriers in society.

Exploring the needs, experiences and relationships in health and social care

Louise Henderson, Lecturer at Robert Gordon University within the Nursing programme, speaks to ALLIANCE Policy and Membership Development Officer, Jennifer Stewart in this ALLIANCE Live Five. Louise shares insights learned from RGU’s study into the role of interpersonal connections and supportive relationships within service users, carers and staff’s experiences of Health and Social Care integration.

Chief Officer of Development, Sara Redmond opens ALLIANCE Digital Gathering

Sara opens the ALLIANCE Digital Gathering week of activity paying tribute to the work of staff from across sectors during the pandemic in delivering health and care services to individuals. The speech to Digital Gathering attendees also touches on the raft of work currently taking place across the ALLIANCE and how these tie in with the organisation’s wider aims.  With the central theme being the Year of Storytelling, Kathleen Jamies, Scotland’s National Poet and Makar leads off with some of her poems and background on her creative process.
