‘What Matters to You?’ and frontline staff during COVID-19
Tommy Whitelaw chats to Nurse Director – Acute Services at NHS Lothian, Gillian McAuley in this week’s ALLIANCE Live podcast. In a wide ranging conversation they discuss how priorities have changed for Gillian’s team during the COVID-19 pandemic and how her staff are still finding ways to ask people what matters to them, because doing what matters is all that matters.

Fiona McQueen, Chief Nursing Officer, on nursing practice and the impact of COVID-19
This important ALLIANCE Live session focuses on the COVID-19 pandemic. Fiona provides the most up to date advice, nursing practice and the impact of the current situation for disabled people, people living with long term conditions and unpaid carers.
As Chief Nursing Officer, Fiona gives advice to the Scottish Government and provides professional leadership for the nurses and midwives in the country. She is passionate about the care and treatment delivered by nurses and midwives across Scotland and is a strong advocate for person-centred care.

Wellbeing Wednesday – Creating an Affirmation Jar with COPE Scotland
In this week’s ALLIANCE Live Wellbeing Wednesday, we learn about the impact of positive affirmations, and are shown how to create our own affirmations jar at home, by Hilda Campbell from COPE Scotland. Affirmations are a way of challenging negative thoughts and actively working to create a more positive mindset. COPE Scotland work to support mental health in the North West of Glasgow.
