Amanda Croft CNO pays tribute to the nursing profession and shares the journey of her own career to mark International Nurses Day.
International Nurses Day celebrates the work that nurses, midwives and nursing associates do everyday to help and care for people across the world. To mark the occasion, Tommy Whitelaw, National Lead for Caring and Outreach at the ALLIANCE, spoke with Amanda Croft, the recently in-post Chief Nursing Officer for Scotland.
In their conversation, Amanda pays tribute to the nursing profession within Scotland and the rest of the UK. With such a rich and vibrant history, Amanda gives her opinion on why, in this country, nurses are so cherished and revered. She also discusses how the profession is continuing to provide a vital role in our healthcare system. Viewers can also learn more about what the role of Chief Nursing Officer entails and Amanda’s own personal nursing journey to achieving that role.
