PHS are looking for input into their strategy for the next ten years, which will aim to support increasing life expectancy.

Public Health Scotland (PHS) are seeking people’s views on their strategy for the next ten years. PHS are Scotland’s national population health organisation, working in areas including protection and improvement of health, as well as health and care service performance data.

Gains in life expectancy have stalled in Scotland in recent years, driven in part by decreases in life expectancy amongst the least wealthy population groups. PHS have stated that they by 2035 they aim to boost average life expectancy by a year, whilst reducing inequalities in life expectancy across the population.

The deadline to respond to the consultation is 29 August 2025.

You can find out more about and respond to the consultation on PHS’ website here.
