Humans of Scotland has continued to share the stories of individuals with lived experience and raise awareness of these diverse experiences.
Humans of Scotland has continued to share the stories of individuals with lived experience of disability, long term conditions, unpaid carers and health and social care workers, to raise awareness of the diverse experiences of people across Scotland. The stories aim to showcase a snapshot of the lives of ALLIANCE members, and people involved in health and social care.
This year we have shared stories on a variety of topics, including:
- Long Covid.
- Gambling harms.
- Menopause.
- Women’s experiences of healthcare.
- Unpaid carers.
- Supporting young carers.
Humans of Scotland has been working hard to diversify the way we tell stories. Whilst we are still sharing stories on our website, we have worked to produce videos which have been shared on our social media pages. With upcoming projects, we are collaborating on creating a longer form documentary style video to showcase the experience of carers and caring in Scotland.
This project is in collaboration with the Person Centred Voices team, highlighting the 2023 Concert for Caring. We have collected numerous stories from across the experience of caring, from young carers to NHS workers, to people who receive care, to give a well-rounded snapshot of what it means to care for somebody.
Humans of Scotland have also continued exciting partnership work with member organisations to showcase their work, and the experiences of people involved in their projects. An exciting project with the Terrence Higgins Trust Scotland will be release early next year, to commemorate 40 years of HIV in Scotland, to highlight the strength and courage of those living with HIV, and the journey HIV care has been on since the 1980s.
Humans of Scotland is proud to represent the diversity of experience within Scotland, and strives to tell the stories of those who do not often get the opportunity to share their experiences, and to support them to make their voices heard.
If you have a story to tell, share you story with us!
