Those most at risk, or those who come into regular contact with those most at risk, will be eligible for another COVID-19 vaccine dose.

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) has issued advice for the winter COVID-19 and flu programme recommending those most at risk, or those who come into regular contact with those most at risk, will soon become eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine dose to maximise their protection over winter.

The booster jabs will be given at the same time as the flu vaccine to those eligible where possible.

As of Monday 22 August, the booking portal will be available to frontline health and social care workers to book appointments for their COVID-19 and flu vaccines. Staff should book on the portal or follow advice from their boards on any local arrangements.

All adults aged 65 years or over will be contacted soon with a scheduled appointment for their COVID-19 and flu vaccinations.

Appointments for all other priority groups will be made available as the programme progresses – people in those groups should wait until they are contacted or called forward.

You can find trusted, accurate and reliable information and check eligibility on NHS Inform (this link will take you away from our website).
