Opportunity to develop solutions to support access to menopause services and individualised support.

The Scottish Health Industry Partnership (SHIP), part of the Scottish Government Chief Scientist Office (CSO) has partnered with CivTech to fund a Menopause Innovation Challenge.

The challenge is now open for applications until midday on Tuesday 22nd August 2023.

This Challenge seeks to empower women to access the right support for their needs, by helping them to understand and identify the best options for individualised support; understand which self-help measures may be useful and to manage symptoms in the workplace; and to access medical support.

The ALLIANCE was pleased to work with the CSO and CivTech to host a workshop with women in June 2023. This provided opportunity for those with experience of menopause to identify some of the challenges they felt were particularly relevant.

CivTech is a tech accelerator launched in 2016 by the Scottish Government. Its aims are simple: to create better public services for citizens while boosting Scotland’s economy by helping innovative companies launch new products with global potential. Successful applicants are given funding, intensive support and space at the CivTech Studio, where they spend four months working hand in hand with their Challenge Sponsors and NHS Scotland Innovation Hubs to build a prototype or ‘Minimum Viable Product’. Full details of the CivTech process are available here.
