Mydex are inviting ALLIANCE members to take part in a pathfinder project.

Mydex CIC (this link will take you away from our website) a Scottish Community Interest Company has been working towards delivering a new way for local services to collaborate together in supporting the citizens they serve and support. It is made possible by placing the citizen at the centre.

What they mean by placing the citizen at the centre is about equipping people to be an active participant in their own care and support.

This means:

  • Giving people the ability to create support circles and decide who is in them and what they can and cannot do or see. This is a vital part of bring friends and family into the picture and letting them help and know what is going on.
  • Being able to easily and understand what is coming up and safely communicate and share their journey.
  • Bringing together the information needed to get and deliver the support required.
  • Making it possible for service providers large and small to take part online safely and securely either via secure web apps or links from existing systems.
  • Providing an easy to use web app designed for people and their friends and family to keep informed and take action when needed.
  • Providing them with a secure personal data store that can hold all the information they need to manage their care and support and making it available to others.

Mydex call communities that work together in this way local clusters.

What is involved?

They are looking to develop some new local clusters in Scotland to build more proof points and examples of the approach working with real people in support today, their friends and family and the front line teams who deliver that support.

They would like to invite ALLIANCE members to take part. They would be keen to find service providers in Aberdeenshire, Ayrshire or Perth/Perthshire who would be interested in collaborating to develop a proposal for grant funding covering discovery, planning and operation of a live pilot of a local cluster.

They are already working in Glasgow, West Dunbartonshire, Moray and Dundee and would welcome discussions with Care Homes, Third Sector local support and service delivery organisations and any GP practices or local authorities.

They have a well defined theory of change, a well defined template for discovery, planning and implementation and excellent resources and platform services to enable rapid formation of a cluster partnership. They recently spoke about the work they do at the ALLIANCE Digital Gathering.
