New project on Healthcare Science right-touch assurance assessments for Scotland

The Professional Standards Authority is carrying out a right-touch assurance assessment of five healthcare science professional groupings in Scotland, commissioned by the Scottish Government.

They are inviting evidence and stakeholder input to help identify risks, strengthen assurance where needed, and inform recommendations for future workforce development.

You can get involved by responding to their call for evidence or by joining a community of interest.

Call for Evidence – do you hold data or intelligence?

If you believe you hold data or intelligence that would help evaluate the risks associated with each of the professional groupings, or of a specific healthcare science role, you can complete a data screening questionnaire. This will help you, and PSA, decide whether you have the kind of information that is needed. If you do, PSA will then issue you with a full request for data, most likely in early August.

PSA will be looking for: 

  • quantitative data 
  • research papers 
  • relevant lived experiences or 
  • observational evidence. 

This can contribute to helping understand the nature of any safety gaps.

Data and intelligence that relates to the wider UK and international contexts, as well as Scotland is welcomed

The data screening questionnaire is open to complete until Sunday 9 August.

Community of Interest

A Community of Interest is being established, which will be used as a sounding board throughout the project, and especially during Phase 3.

If you would like to be a part of this community, please submit an expression of interest by Sunday 2 August.
