Lingo Flamingo is seeking participants to join their Language Learning with Senior Learners online course.

Delivered in partnership with The Open University, the course is designed for carers and care workers who have a role in enhancing the wellbeing of the people they care for, to make learning a language accessible to senior learners. The aim of the 15 week course is to enhance senior learners wellbeing, overcome isolation, promote brain health and boost self esteem.

Learning outcomes include:

  • Awareness of how senior learners learn.
  • Awareness of what dementia is and how it may impact individual learners.
  • Planning, sequencing and reflecting a simple language learning session.
  • Regional and national language learning projects and initiatives
  • Current research and practical support strategies

The course start date is to be confirmed, but is expected to be in February/March 2026.
