Catch up on the various videos of Self Management Funded projects that have been released over the past few months as part of ALLIANCE Live.
Bipolar Scotland is a national charity for people living with bipolar. Their vision is for a good life for everyone in Scotland living with bipolar. In this episode of Project Insights, Maja Mitchell-Grigorjeva, Delivery and Development Manager, talks about their new peer support project for adults in Scotland who are newly diagnosed with bipolar, Beyond Diagnosis.
Talk Lipoedema is a national charity providing information and support to people with lipoedema, their families and carers. Dr Anne Williams, a Nurse Consultant in Lymphology and Trustee with Talk Lipoedema, shares the learning from their Peer Support Project which supports and empowers people living with lipoedema.
SWAN (Scottish Women’s Autism Network)
SWAN (Scottish Women’s Autism Network) is an autistic-led charity delivering services, information and support for and by autistic women and girls across Scotland. Mandy Williams, SWAN’s Volunteer Coordinator, describes how they coproduced a redesign of their volunteer recruitment programme, resulting in a flexible, person-centred model that is supportive of an autistic mindset.
Long Term Conditions Hebrides (LTCH)
Long Term Conditions Hebrides (LTCH) is a small, grassroots, voluntary organisation based on Lewis, on the Western Isles. It was founded in 2018 by people with long term conditions, for people with long term conditions. Dr Gail Cunningham, lead self management and mindfulness facilitator joins us to talk about their work and shares one of their self management techniques, a breathing exercise.
