The Scottish Parliament's Health and Sport Committee has published the report of its inquiry into social care for adults aged over 18.

The report makes a series of recommendations based on the oral and written evidence it received during the inquiry, which started in 2019.

The Committee’s report makes several recommendations to ensure the future delivery of social care and support in Scotland is:

  • Person centred with improved public involvement
  • Focused on prevention
  • Valued by society, sharing equal status with the NHS

The ALLIANCE submitted a briefing to the Committee’s inquiry in February 2020.  This was informed by interim findings from the My Support My Choice research project, and our earlier response to the Scottish Government and COSLA discussion paper on the reform of adult social care.
