Details of involvement in the Transforming Cancer Care Programme at the ALLIANCE.

Macmillan Cancer Support Scotland and the Scottish Government were working together to improve cancer services in Scotland. Their planned programme of work was called ‘Transforming Cancer Care’. Their aim was for everyone diagnosed with cancer to have access to a dedicated support worker to ensure people are offered emotional, practical and financial advice as well as access to services tailored to their needs.

An Executive Group and Delivery Group was created to oversee Transforming Cancer Care. The ALLIANCE, through our Macmillan lived experience programme, set out to recruit people affected by cancer -through their own diagnosis or through caring for someone with cancer- to become members of the Executive Group and Delivery Group.
