We've been working hard over the past months to design, develop and deliver a new website and delighted to announce its now LIVE
We’re delighted to launch our new website www.alliance-scotland.org.uk.
We have developed a cleaner, fresher looking website that makes it easier to find out information about our work, members, events, case studies and opinion pieces.
We wanted to introduce you to the new ALLIANCE site using letters of our organisation A L L I A N C E, so first of all give me an A…
A is for accessibility, with this at the forefront of our mind and to meet the needs of our members, we have developed the most accessible website we can. This was tested by focus groups at DeafBlind Scotland (this link will take you away from this website) and in consultation with John Turley at SiTE Scotland (this link will take you away from this website). Just before the website launch, Cole AD carried out an accessibility audit and our site passed (with flying colours we were told).
L is for listening to what our members and users of the website wanted. We held a number of focus groups to find out how people used and accessed our website, looked at our analytics and used this learning to monitor what aspects of our old site people liked and used, and what types of things people wanted to see on the new site.
L is for ‘live’ our website went live on Friday 10 November, we were all very excited to launch the new site.
I is for integration of all programme WordPress sites to our main ALLIANCE site. This means a redirection service will be put in place for our programme websites. We will be saving all the content from these so if there is ever a blog, pledge, piece of news or an event you want to access just get in touch and we will do our best to help.
A is for ALLIANCE programmes, we hope that our programmes and work will be easy to navigate and find on the new ALLIANCE website, we have created 8 different areas and related icons for the programmes, some will go in more than one;
- Membership
- Digital
- Engagement in Europe
- Health and Social Care Support and Services
- In the Community
- People and Networks
- Policy into Practice
- Self Management and Co-production Hub
N is for new features, this includes Opinions that give our members, staff and volunteers a platform to share their views on a particular topic; online booking for ALLIANCE events, membership and self management network sign up forms and room bookings, a ‘new look’ newsletter and a whole range of new icons and images.
C is for co-producing the site with our website providers Cole AD (this link will take you away from this website) and our members. It’s been a lot of work but we hope going forward into 2018 with a new website it will all be worth it. Creative Director Garry McCann and all the team at Cole AD have been very supportive of working in this way and we have continuously consulted with members and staff to support and develop improvements to the site.
E is for evaluation, we are keen for all of our members and partners to let us know what you think of our new website. Please do have a look around and let us know what you think. As with any new website there is bound to be some broken links, pages not fully working or loading and a few other issues so please do let us know if you come across any of these by emailing info@alliance-scotland.org.uk We will also be reviewing the website in 6 months time, so if you have any suggested amendments or improvement, please let us know.
End of page.
