When Gambling Harms and a community wants to help part 2

Developments in reducing gambling harms for individuals, families, and communities.
In our last piece we spoke of the need to raise awareness of Gambling Harms. There are a few things happening which shall support this, and we will keep reporting on developments.
We mentioned last time ‘’Whit’s Happening’’ (this link will take you away from our website). This started as a local info mag but is now being shared widely. It has information relevant for Glasgow and beyond. This is one tool, or piece of the Jigsaw to help raise awareness of Gambling Harms and where help is available, as well as developments in how to have a community safe from Gambling harms and the developing idea for Gambling Harms Champions.
We are also delighted to share that with Gamcare, we have planned dates for awareness training on Gambling Harms for Women and Young people. Visit eventbrite to book a place on this 1.5 hour zoom session (this link will take you away from our website).
The ‘Whit’s Happening’ is being updated every month as we keep finding new things to share. In addition to a featured piece by GamCare on page 4 there are many other areas you may find interesting:

Each edition just keeps getting bigger! So, anything you want to see added, please get in touch, also, if you see any errors please let us know so we can change that next edition and apologies if there are any this time!
We are also interested in your views and experiences of Gambling Harms and what you would find helpful, as we want to explore together what challenges exist for people, including people from specific communities e.g. the Deaf Community. Ensuring as developments move forwards, they support the communication for all campaign (this link will take you away from our website). Helping make Scotland the first Inclusive Communication Nation.
We are also keen to hear the experiences of families and the impact this may have on children, as Gambling Harms could lead to adverse childhood experiences and in Getting It Right For Every Child (this link will take you away from our website), it’s helpful to see work being done with and for young people.
Gambling Harms is around raising awareness of when the fun stops it is time to stop and if stopping is an issue, where help can be found, and how together we can have conversations which reduce the incidence of harm for individuals, families and communities.
