Professor Stavert and colleagues from Edinburgh Napier University and Queen's University Belfast are looking for research participants.
Our Nuffield Foundation funded research study is investigating the views and experiences of patients, named persons, practitioners and tribunal members regarding the tribunal processes and outcomes. The project team is led by myself as the Principal Investigator of the Centre for Mental Health and Capacity Law, Edinburgh Napier University and Professor Michael Brown (Co-Investigator) of Queen’s University Belfast. Dr Ini Enang and Aisha Macgregor are the Research Assistants. The project is running from October 2017 until September 2020 and will report in the autumn of 2020.
At this phase of our project, we are inviting patients and/or named persons who have experienced the mental health tribunal process in Scotland to participate in our study. This will help us to determine if the tribunal are working in line with legislative and human rights standards.
Participation is voluntary and responses will be anonymised. To help you decide if to participate, please contact us and we will provide an information sheet with more details of this study, including privacy notices and consent forms for research participants.
If this is something you are interested in and would like more information, please contact Iniobong Enang (Project Research Assistant) either by email i.enang@napier.ac.uk, or telephone 0131 455 3546.
