In the lead up to the Self Management Awards, we find out more about our judges and what self management means to them.

Alison Grant, Community Health in Partnership (CHiP) Manager at Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action shares some fun facts with us and what she’s looking forward to most about judging the Self Management Awards.

If your friends could describe you in three words, what would they be?

Considerate, supportive and enthusiastic

What is Self Management to you?

Enabling access to the fullest range of resources, including personal, to be expert at managing own health and wellbeing. #See the person not the condition

What piece of advice would you give your younger self?

Trust your own judgment

What three people would you invite to a dinner party?

Flora Drummond, Janet Street-Porter and Donald Trump

What is the best thing about being a judge for the Self Management Awards?

Playing a role in promoting the diverse range of projects supporting self management in Scotland and the positive impact they have on people’s lives and rewarding a few exceptional organisations.

What’s the biggest compliment you’ve ever received?

“Lunch was amazing!”  (maybe not the biggest but it’s the most recent!)
