Bereavement and Loss Training
- Type: Event
- Date: 22/09/2026

This course by PAMIS is designed for supporting bereaved individuals with PMLD, including their families and carers.
Coping with bereavement is difficult for everyone, but it can be especially challenging for individuals with profound learning and multiple disabilities (PMLD). This course is designed for those supporting bereaved individuals with PMLD, including their families and carers. It is also valuable for those grieving the loss of someone with PMLD, whether they are paid carers or family members.
Using PAMIS’s 2014 research as its foundation, this course is covers two primary themes: How someone with a profound learning disability experiences grief, and how family carers experience grief when their loved one with PMLD dies.
Split over 2 days on 22 and 23 September at PAMIS Head Office in Dundee (12 hours in total), this course utilises a blended training approach which combines theory, research, practical tools and participant’s own experiential knowledge. The course is £280 per person.
